The 6th Receivables Finance International Conference and Exhibition (RFIx) headed to Madrid.
The event, held at the historic Westin Palace Hotel on 16 and 17 March 2006, was expected to be Europe's largest gathering of factoring industry leaders in over a decade.
The theme of the conference, 'Turning globalisation into cash', focused on the latest developments within the international factoring industry.
The newest developments in cross-border factoring, emerging markets, reverse factoring, and syndicating receivables finance, formed the backdrop to the two-day programme.
Exciting developments in Europe's newest markets, such as the Baltic and central European states, will be revealed. Additionally the future of factoring in Spain and Germany, established but very contrasting markets, were analysed.
Michael Bickers, managing director of BCR Publishing, the conference organiser, said:
"Europe continues to be world factoring's hub, despite rapid growth in Asia and the Far East in recent years. Volumes and sales are up, with a series of niche services such as reverse factoring and syndicated receivables finance pushing growth in the region higher."
